Day 1: Prague (MON)
Welcome to Prague the capital city of Czech Republic. Upon arrival you will have a driver waiting with transport to take you to your hotel. The driver will provide you with all the local information of the area you will be staying at and how to get around to the historic city centre. (Normal Check in Time is 3:00pm)
In the evening around 6.30pm - 7:00pm you will meet your Tour Leader and will be provided a transfer service to the Old Town Square for you to explore this magical ancient city and have a chance to try out some local cuisine (own expense) before returning to the hotel. This central location is full of energy and tourist activities. It’s a marvellous place to acquaint ourselves with Prague.
Prague City Tour (TUE)
Day 2: Prague City Tour (TUE)
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel you will be visiting the capital city, which is the Baroque jewel of Europe. Here you will meet a local expert who will provide a guided city tour which will start from the Prague Castle (admission included). As the Castle is on top of the hill you will walk by St Nicholas Church, Charles Bridge, St Vitus Cathedral and the Astronomical clock to the old town whilst being explained the fine history of these important monuments. The city tour takes about 3 hours and is a great one if you love walking. Later we board the romantic sightseeing cruise along the Moldava River (boat tour included). The afternoon and evening is yours to explore the city’s many attractions and have opportunities to try out some local cuisine (own expense). Transfer back to the hotel around 8.30pm – 9.30pm.
Prague – Munich – Innsbruck (WED), 540km
Day 3: Prague – Munich – Innsbruck (WED), 540km
Enjoy an early Breakfast at the hotel and we will leave early to travel to Bavaria arriving at Munich (Germany) at midday. Upon arrival in Munich, kick off with an unique BMW world of experience. Visit the futuristic BMW Welt (admission included) with its fascinating visionary architecture and multi-use exhibition of BMW, the prestigious German vehicles brand. After lunch (own expense) we will travel to Innsbruck (Austria) where we will have time for dinner (own expense) in the world-famous Golden Roof area at the Old Town.
Innsbruck – Zurich (THU), 330km
Day 4: Innsbruck – Zurich (THU), 330km
After breakfast this morning you will begin your day discovering the Swarovski Crystal Museum (admission included) visiting its impressive gardens and learning how the pieces of crystals are produced. You will have some free time for souvenir shopping before embarking on a wonderful scenic train journey (approx. 3 hours 30 mins) from Innsbruck to Zurich (Switzerland). Upon arrival, enjoy some leisure time in the historic town centre next to the lake where you can dine at your favorite restaurant (own expense) before heading back to hotel.
Zurich - Interlaken – Grindelwald – Lucerne – Zurich (FRI), 280km
Day 5: Zurich - Interlaken – Grindelwald – Lucerne – Zurich (FRI), 280km
Start the day to a hot breakfast whereby today’s stage has beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes. On a clear day you may be able to see Jungfrau from the city centre. Take a stroll along Interlaken and follow to Grindelwald, also known as “Glacier Village”. Enjoy a quick coffee break before taking an unforgettable cable car ride (ticket included) to the Grindelwald First and walk half an hour along the “footbridge over the empty” whilst absorbing the fantastic scenery of glaciers around us. We will have lunch (included) before continuing to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. After that we return to Zurich and you will have time to explore your dining option at the city center (own expense).
Zurich – Bern – Meiringen – Furkapass – Milan (SAT), 465km
Day 6: Zurich – Bern – Meiringen – Furkapass – Milan (SAT), 465km
Amongst hills we travel to Bern, the capital of the confederation and time for a stroll. After this, we will cross the Alps on a stage of great scenic interest. We will follow beautiful lakes to Meiringen, where the novelist wished Sherlock Holmes to die. We then cross one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Switzerland, the Furkapass, with eternal snows and glaciers. We will stop at the ICE CAVE* and at the viewpoint over the Rhone Glacier (until early June and after the beginning of October, the mountain pass may be close due to snow. In this case the alternative visit will be to the Aareschlucht gorges in Meiringen). Arrival in Milan (Italy) at the end of the afternoon. There will be time to dine at the Porta Venecia (Port of Venice) where an outstanding variety of restaurants can be found to delight your palate (own expense). Transfer back to hotel.
Milan – Pisa – Rome (SUN), 640km
Day 7: Milan – Pisa – Rome (SUN), 640km
After breakfast, we will visit to see the magnificent Duomo di Milano an exceptionally large and elaborate Gothic cathedral and one of the world's oldest shopping malls the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on the main square of Milan.
Then we continue towards to PISA. On a little tourist train we will travel to the Piazza Dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where there will be time to admire one of the most alluring and beautiful art complexes in Italy, including the well known Leaning Tower of Pisa.
After that, we continue to Rome and arrive in the evening.
Day 8: Rome (MON)
Experience some of the richest history in the world today with a scenic tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to the “The Eternal City”. We will visit the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit the famous St Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums (own expense). And we have also included admission to the incredible ruins of the Roman Coliseum (admission included) the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive construction dates back 2000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening, a transfer service will be provided to Via Cavour area, here you will find restaurants serving different cuisines (own expense). Return to hotel around 9pm.
Rome – Florence (TUE), 320km
Day 9: Rome – Florence (TUE), 320km
A beautiful scenic drive in the morning to Florence. Upon arrival, you will visit the most famous lookouts for a stunning view of Florence - the Piazzale Michelangelo. Then followed by a city tour in Florence before Lunch. In the evening, enjoy an orientation tour with a local expert and walk through the historic centre and attractions including the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. You will have some free time to explore on you own and have dinner (own expense) at your favourite restaurant.
Florence – Venice (WED), 310km
Day 10: Florence – Venice (WED), 310km
After breakfast, we enjoy stunning mountain landscapes whilst crossing the Apennine Mountains to Venice. Arriving in Venice prepare to be awestruck this afternoon with an incredible adventure through the beautiful city canals on a local water bus (Vaporetto). A comprehensive tour with a local guide to see the architectural marvels of Plaza de San Marcos and enter the marvellous Basilica (admission included) and enjoy a demonstration of Murano crystal blowing at the Murano glass factory. Relax this afternoon to explore the city on your own. You will have the chance to choose the type of restaurant that you prefer in the Mestre area (own expense).
Day 11: Venice (THU)
Your tour ends with breakfast in the morning.
